How to Enchant Items
Enchantment is the act or art of enchanting; transforming mundane items into “bewitched” objects of power for manifestation work or other various intentions. Tools and jewelry are common enchantments but allow yourself to push your imagination and focused intention. You can virtually make enchantments for any purpose or intention but there is a proper procedure to ensure that your enchantments do “work” properly or successfully. It is important to cleanse, charge, program, and activate your items to become a true enchantment to use upon your own will. In this blog post, we will discuss the procedure, steps, and tips on how to create enchantments for your spiritual practice.
Step 1 : Cleanse
The first step of enchantment is to cleanse the object or item. New or old to us, items can hold dense low vibrational residual energies. It is best to start with a “clean slate” to work with. Please be mindful of the size and material that you are working with; some materials may have sensitivities. Use your own logic and discernment for what methods or techniques may be best suited for you and your intention. Here are some ideas and inspiration on how to cleanse your item or object to enchant :
Salt, Sand, Soil - using Earth to Cleanse by burying the item so the residual energies are cleared (leave for 24 - 72 hours)
Moon Water, Flordia Water, Holy Water - using Water to Cleanse by purification
Burning Incense, Resins, Herbs, Flowers, and Roots - using the technique of a smoke cleanse to clear stagnant residual energies
Wind - using the element of Air to “carry away” the energies that you do not wish to keep
Sweeping - this gesture and movement combined with a tool (feather, broom, wand, athame) to clear or banish unwanted energies
Using a Selenite Crystal Wand - using the high vibrational frequencies of Selenite to clear the aura of the object or item
After you cleanse the item, the energy should be lighter only then you are ready to proceed with charging.
Step 2 : Charge
After you are done cleansing your item, the next step of enchantment is to charge. The item is currently empty of any magic. It does not have the energy to carry out a spell or intention. Charging is necessary so that your enchantment has the necessary energy or “power” to work how you want it to. There are many ways to charge items and objects. Please be mindful of the materials that you are working with as some substances may have sensitivities (you never want to risk compromising the physical integrity). It is best to use your own logic and discernment on what method or technique is best to use for charging. Here are some ideas and inspiration on how to charge your item or object for enchantment :
Sunlight or Full Moon light - using Light to infuse and charge
Crystals - you may use the energy of Crystals and Gemstones to charge
Candle Flame or Fire - using the element of Fire to transmute and charge
Bells, Chimes, Singing Bowls, Tuning Forks, Gongs - using Sound to utilize specific pitches, tones, and frequencies to charge
Reiki or Energy Manipulation - using Energy Work to intentionally direct energy into the object from another source of power to charge
Copper or Gold - using conductive metals to direct energy to your object to charge
Storms - using the natural residual energies of the weather to charge
After your item has had time to charge, the next step of enchantment would be to program your object.
Step 3 : Program
After you cleanse and charge your object, the next step of enchantments is programming your object. Programming simply means to place your specific and focused intention upon the object. This is important because this is the step where you are giving purpose for that item to do. Without programming your item is simply ordinary and mundane. It is when you program something that makes it a tool, charm, or enchantment. You can program by simply saying, praying, chanting, or affirming your intention out loud to the object as if it was a command. You do NOT have to rhyme or say anything poetic, but you should speak clearly and specific. Here are some ideas and inspiration for how to program your item for enchantment :
“I program this Rose Quartz Ring to attract healthy and abundant love into my life. With this ring, my heart gives and receives love with divine protection.”
“I program this mirror to send back all evil eye’s, psychic attacks, curses, hexes, jinxes of any kind. This mirror serves to banish all negative energies and malicious entities that does not serve my highest good.”
“ I program this pen to attract abundant and creative inspiration for me to channel for my work with myself and others".”
After you are done programming your enchantment, the next step is to actually activate your enchantment.
Step 4 : Activate
After programming, the next step of enchantment is to activate it so that it may start to work in your favor for the specific purpose you intended your item to. Activating is when you are setting the program into action with magic. There are various ways of activation, please use your own logic and discernment of what method or technique to use. After a successful activation, your item will “burn through” the energy it gained during charging to carry out the programming. Overtime you may find that the item may not be working as well or it seems to have a dense negative feeling to it. This means it is time to cleanse and start the cycle again if you wish to continue using it. Sacred Dance - using physical movement to affirm and activate
Clapping, Stomping, & Hand Gestures - using physical movement to affirm and activate
Mudras, Chants, Affirmations - using spoken repetitive sounds, words, or phrases to activate
Elemental Magic - intentionally using the powers of the Elements to activate
Song & Music - using sound and sacred music to activate
Sex Magic - using the power of the orgasm to activate
Sigils - using a symbol combined with Chi to activate
When you are done with activating, you are ready to use your enchantment upon your own free will.
