Crystal Elixirs

The Significance of Crystal Elixirs

A Crystal Elixir is a enchanted liquid (typically water or oil based) that have been infused with the vibration and power of crystals or gemstones. Crystal Elixirs have been used by spiritual practitioners from all over the world, across many cultures, for over thousands of years. Creating these powerful infusions are a great way to harness the energies within crystals for our own empowerment, healing, manifesting, or to give as an offering for our loved ones, ancestors, and spirit guides.

You can set your own intentions for a Crystal Elixir based on the properties of the materials you choose, like :

  • the type of crystal you use

  • the type of water or oil you use

  • choosing to add herbs

Please keep in mind that ALL crystals should be cleansed and charged PRIOR to making a Crystal Elixir. Remember that NOT all Crystal Elixirs are intended or safe to ingest, some may be made for massage, baths, or for anointing the skin or tools.

How to Create Crystal Elixirs

Crystal Elixirs are made with a base of either water or oil and crystals, you can choose to add fresh or dried herbs as well but that is completely optional. Crystal Elixirs should be stored in a jar or at least a sealable container and it is best practice to avoid using any plastic. Not all crystals are safe to put in water and may actually corrode, rust, or dissolve in the water. As well as, some crystals may also contain certain minerals or radiation that would make them unfit for any consumption. It is important to do your research on the crystal that you intend to use for your elixir, to avoid any harm.

Crystals NOT SAFE IN WATER :

  • Black Tourmaline, Fluorite, Aquamarine, Turquoise, Pyrite, Ruby, Lapis Lazuli, Amazonite, Desert Rose, Calcite, Angelite, Malachite, Selenite, Celestine, Amber, Imperial Topaz, Red Coral, Fire Opal, Azurite, Lepidolite, Jasper, Hematite, Goethite, Apatite, Labradorite, Apophyllite, Gypsum

Crystals SAFE IN WATER :

  • Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Smoky Quartz, Rose Quartz, Citrine, Snow Quartz, Agate, Aventurine, Tigers Eye, Rutilated Quartz, Carnelian (not safe in salt water), Black Obsidian (can break in extreme hot or cold water), Bloodstone, Super Seven

Crystal Elixirs are typically made using the Indirect Method or Direct Method, both techniques are explained below.

The Indirect Method of Creating Crystal Elixirs

The Indirect Method is the safest method of creating Crystal Elixirs, this technique involves placing your crystals and gemstones into a container and then putting that container directly into the base of your elixir, this ensures that the crystals or gemstones do NOT have direct contact with your water or oil base. This is great because this allows you to safely infuse the energies of your crystals and gemstones without possibly absorbing any unwanted toxins like sulfur, copper, or iron.

In the picture above, I have shown an example of the Indirect Method from a side view.

In the picture below, I have shown an example of this technique from a top view looking down.

For demonstration purposes, I have used a large ceramic bowl, a clean glass jar, bottled spring water, and tumbled carnelian and sunstone. These are the steps to take when doing the Indirect Method :

  1. Cleanse and charge your crystals.

  2. Wash your vessels and cleanse them before use.

  3. Pour your base (water or oil) into a container. Set your intention with prayer or chanting.

  4. Add crystals into a different container (jar, bowl, cup) and place this into your base (water or oil).

  5. Optional - add fresh or dried herbs to boost your intention. Strain the water or oil, bottle up, and use as intended. You can also choose to charge this Crystal Elixir in sunlight or full moon light to infuse even more power into this.

The Direct Method of Creating Crystal Elixirs

The Direct Method is the very simple technique of directly placing your crystals into water or oil to create infusions and elixirs with your intention. This is very straight forward but please keep in mind that NOT all crystals are safe in water and may to be toxic to touch and digest.

In the picture above, I have shown an example of the Direct Method from a side view.

In the picture below, I have shown an example of this technique from a top view looking down.

For demonstration purposes, I have used a large ceramic bowl, bottled spring water, and tumbled and raw amethyst. These are the steps to take when doing the Direct Method :

  1. Cleanse and charge your crystals.

  2. Wash your vessel and cleanse before use.

  3. Pour your base (water or oil) into a container.

  4. Add crystals into your base (water or oil). Set your intention with prayer or chanting.

  5. Optional - add fresh or dried herbs to boost your intention. Strain the water or oil, bottle up, and use as intended. You can also choose to charge this Crystal Elixir in sunlight or full moon light to infuse even more power into this.

Personally, I prefer to use the indirect method when I am creating my own Crystal Elixirs. Please do your research on the crystals and gemstones you use.
